as
an
assistant
director.
After
working
as
an
assistant
director
under
the
guidance
of
ace
filmmaker
Mani
Ratnam,
fate
played
a
vital
role
in
he
becoming
an
actor
instead
of
a
director.
Ever
since
he
has
dreamt
about
acting
in
a
Mani
Ratnam's
movie.
When
asked
who
was
his
favourite
director,
pat
came
the
reply
from
the
Paiyaa
actor
who
has
said,
it
cannot
be
none
other
than
his
guide
Mani
Ratnam.
He
has
also
said
that
he
has
been
waiting
impatiently
for
a
call
from
the
veteran
director
and
hopes
his
dream
would
soon
take
shape.
Meanwhile,
Karthi
has
eluded
a
major
disaster
at
the
shooting
spot
of
his
upcoming
film
Komban
where
he
was
rescued
at
the
last
minute
from
a
raging
water
fall
which
suddenly
turned
into
a
flood
where
a
fight
sequence
was
being
shot.
The
actor
is
safe
and
sound
and
the
shooting
is
expected
to
resume
once
the
water
level
decreases.
