62nd National Film Awards: Films Ottal & Ain; Musthaffa And Gopi Sundar Wins!

62nd National Film Awards has been announced. Despite the earlier speculations, Malayalam movie industry hasn't won much awards this time. 14 Malayalam movies including Ain, Ottal, Alif, Njaan etc has entered the final rounds for various categories.

Ain, directed by Siddharth Siva, is the Best Malayalam Movie. The industry has won 4 more awards; including the awards for Best Movie on Environment Conservation And Preservation, Best Screenplay, Best Background Score and a Special Mention.

Malayalam actors Mammootty and Jayasurya were considered for the Best Actor award; but finally lost it to Kannada actor Sanchari Vijay. Kangana Ranaut won the award for Best Actress, for the performance in Queen. Marathi movie The Court won the award for Best Movie. Bengali director Sreejith Mukherji is the Best Director.
