Dhanush's Anegan has hit the screens and has also attracted decent to positive review from fans and critics alike. With Dhanush's film well on its way to become a hit, we might want to spare a thought for Ilayathalapathy Vijay as one might wonder what Vijay is going through.
As we all know, Anegan was first offered to none other than Vijay. But due to some unavoidable circumstances, he was not able to take up the project. Rejected by Rajinikanth and Vijay - Shankar revealed that the script was initially written with Rajinikanth in the lead. When Rajinikanth refused to star in the movie Shankar then turned towards Vijay who too declined the offer.
Nandha
Rejected by Ajith Kumar - The title role was initially offered to Ajith Kumar, who rejected the film citing that Bala had not fully developed the story and screenplay before narrating the terms to him. The role was then offered to Surya which subsequently helped him in his career.
Ko
Rejected by Simbu - Simbu walked out of the project in the last minute when Tamannaah who was earlier roped in to play the female lead was replaced by Karthika Nair. Jiiva was then presented with the opportunity which he accepted with open arms.
Enthiran
Rejected by Kamal Haasan - Shankar announced that his next project would feature Kamal Haasan and Preity Zinta and the film was titled Robot. Despite performing a photoshoot with Kamal and Preity, the project was shelved due to scheduling conflicts.
Kaaka Kaaka
Rejected by Ajith Kumar And Vikram - Gautham revealed that he was inspired to make the film after reading articles on how encounter specialists shoot gangsters and how their families get threatening calls in return, and initially approached Ajith Kumar and Vikram for the role without success.
Ghajini
Rejected by Ajith Kumar - The film was initially announced as Mirattal in March 2004 to be produced by NIC Arts and to feature Ajith Kumar and Asin in the lead roles. However the project fell through for reasons unknown and then was revived with Suriya in the lead.
Naan Kadavul
Rejected by Ajith Kumar - Ajith pulled himself out of the project after the film was shelved twice. Bala tried for the third time and finally managed to complete the project with Arya in the lead.
Dheena
Rejected by Vijay - Dheena was AR Murugadoss's first movie. He first approached Vijay with the script which was rejected by him. The movie was then made with Ajith in the lead and went on to become a blockbuster hit.
Saamy
Rejected by Ajith Kumar - Reports suggests that Ajith had rejected Saamy too. Vikram was finalized for the role and the movie went on to become a massive hit. The film was remade in Hindi as well.
New
Rejected by Ajith Kumar - SJ Surya had initially revealed that New would feature Ajith and Jyothika in the lead with Kareena Kapoor in a guest appearance. It is said that Ajith walked out of the project and then SJ Surya had to redo the entire casting.
