62nd National Film Awards: Bobby Simha, Vivek Among Winners In Tamil!
62nd National Film Awards are being announced and Tamil cinema has already won seven of them. We bring you live updates as the awards are still being given away.
Vivek Harshan, the editor of Jigarthanda has bagged the Best Editor of the year while Na Muthukumar has got the Best Lyricist award for the second consecutive time.
It is to be noted that Muthukumar won the best lyricist last year for the song 'aanandha yaazhai' from the movie Thanga Meenkal. It is said that the song 'Azhagu' from Saivam has awarded him the honour this year.
The biggest surprise has come in the form of Best Female Playback Singer. Unnikrishnan's eight year old daughter Uthara Unnikrishnan has won the best singer award for her debut song in the film Saivam.
It is to be noted that Unnikrishnan too won the National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer for his first song 'Ennavale' in the film Kadhalan.
Bobby Simha has won the Best Supporting Actor for Jigarthanda which takes the tally of total awards won by the film to two. Best Tamil film is won by Kutram Kadithal which was directed by Bramma.G and produced by J.Sathish Kumar and Christy Siluvappan.

The total awards won by Kaaka Muttai now stands at two with Ramesh, a child artist in the film winning the Best Child Artist Award.

Kutram Kadithal , which was critically celebrated has won the Best Tamil Film Award.

Vivek Harshan
Vivek Harshan has won his first National Award as an editor for the film Jigarthanda. It is to be noted that he has worked in Kamal Haasan's Uttama Villain.

Jigarthanda alone has given two National Awards to Tamil Cinema which is no mean feat. Kudos to the entire team of Jigarthanda.

Tamil Cinema Bags 7 Awards
Tamil cinema now has a total of 7 National Awards with Jigarthanda, Kaaka Muttai and Saivam contributing two each.
