Looks
like
producer
Ashok
Kheny
is
unfazed
by
all
the
baleful
comments
his
idea
of
making
a
biopic
on
Tipu
Sultan
with
Superstar
Rajinikanth
in
the
lead
attracted.
The
Bangalore
based
politician-entrepreneur-filmmaker
has
claimed
that
it
was
Rajinikanth
who
suggested
the
name
of
Tipu
Sultan.
His
claim
has
come
in
a
bid
to
silence
his
BJP
contemporaries,
who
had
voiced
against
his
idea
of
making
a
film
based
on
Tipu's
life.
"I
had
suggested
the
name
of
Shivaji,
but
since
he
had
fought
some
muslim
rulers,
Rajinikanth
suggested
we
do
a
biopic
on
Tipu
Sultan
as
he
had
a
friendly
relationship
with
people
of
all
religions
and
was
responsible
for
defeating
the
British
army",
Mr.
Kheny
has
said
in
an
interview
to
Times
of
India.
He
has
also
said
that
Rajinikanth
is
an
actor
who
belongs
to
everyone
in
this
country
and
all
have
equal
claim
on
him.
And
thus,
the
filmmaker
has
made
his
point
loud
and
clear,
with
his
only
focus
fixed
at
completing
the
script
right
now.
It
was
reported
that
some
BJP
leaders
had
opposed
the
idea
of
making
a
biopic
on
Tipu
Sultan
as
they
believe
the
Indian
ruler
was
responsible
in
killing
and
misplacing
thousands
of
Hindus.
Threatening
Rajinikanth
Few
reports
had
also
claimed
that
some
prominent
BJP
leaders
had
threatened
Rajinikanth
with
dire
consequences,
should
he
agree
to
feature
in
Ashok
Kheny's
film
which
promises
to
glorify
Tipu
Sultan.
Rajinikanth's
Reply
Superstar
Rajinikanth,
who
is
busy
shooting
for
his
upcoming
film
Kabali,
is
yet
to
react
to
this
ongoing
controversy.
As
a
matter
of
fact,
he
hasn't
even
opened
up
about
the
project
in
question.
High
Budget
Entertainer
In
Multiple
Languages
If
the
project
materializes,
it
would
be
a
high
budget
entertainer,
possibly
India's
costliest
film
ever
made.
It
will
also
be
shot
in
several
languages
including
English
for
a
worldwide
reach.
