When
Shankar
and
Vikram
joined
hands
for
the
first
time,
they
produced
a
spiffing
movie
with
a
forthright
message.
Yet,
the
Hindi
version
of
the
film(Aparichit)
failed
to
take
off
due
to
its
poor
marketing
strategy
in
North
India.
Having
learnt
their
lesson,
makers
of
I
decided
to
promote
their
film
using
Salman
Khan
as
a
moderator
in
the
sets
of
a
famous
reality
show
Bigg
Boss.
During
the
event,
Salman
Khan,
who
unveiled
the
Hindi
version
trailer
of
I,
praised
Vikram
for
his
extraordinary
acting
skills.
Salman
said,
"I
am
really
enthralled
by
Vikram's
marvelous
performance
in
the
movie.
He
has
brilliantly
played
the
three
different
roles
with
astounding
elegance."
Meanwhile,
Shankar,
the
director
of
I
has
revealed
that
Vikram
was
the
one
who
took
the
initiative
to
lose
weight
in
order
to
portray
the
hunchback
character.
He
said,
"For
the
role
of
the
bodybuilder,
I
requested
Vikram
to
put
on
weight.
He
worked
extremely
hard
for
it
and
we
were
happy
with
the
output.
For
the
other
role
of
a
disfigured
man,
I
never
asked
Vikram
to
lose
weight
but
he
felt
it
would
suit
the
role."
Calling
him
crazy
for
his
mad-like
dedication,
Shankar
said,
"It's
not
easy
to
gain
and
lose
weight
for
the
same
film.
He
didn't
just
lose
a
few
kilos,
but
he
lost
so
much
weight
that
I
was
worried
about
his
health.
I
even
told
his
wife
that
I
had
never
asked
him
to
lose
weight."
"Going
by
whatever
he's
gone
through
for
the
film,
I
sometimes
felt
he
was
crazy.
But
all
that
worked
in
favour
of
the
film," said
the
maverick
director
before
signing
off.
I
is
slated
to
hit
the
screen
for
Pongal
festival
on
14th
of
January.
