Box Office War On December 4th: Can Bobby Simha & Atharvaa Defeat Sivakarthikeyan?
December is likely to have interesting releases in Kollywood and the first weekend of the month will witness the release of 4 flicks including Sivakarthikeyan's Rajini Murugan, Bobby Simha's Urumeen and Atharvaa's Eetti.
Though the fourth film, Vellaiya Irukiravan Poi Solla Maatan, does not have a lot of buzz surrounding it, its makers will be relying on its quirky title to pull in audiences in the opening weekend.
Among the other three films, Rajini Murugan is expected to have a huge opening as the movie is making its way into theatres after facing many hurdles, which subsequently might work in favour of the movie, as it did for Simbu's Vaalu.
Also, Rajini Murugan has the hit trio (director Ponram, Sivakarthikeyan and Soori) of Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam intact, raising the expectation meter of the film.
Eetti, starring Atharvaa and Sri Divya in the lead roles, had faced a similar fate as that of Rajini Murugan. But the film will finally hit the big screen, come December 4th.
And Urumeen will have the real life couple - Bobby Simha and Reshmi Menon playing the lead roles. The movie is directed by debutant Sakthivel Perumalsamy and will have Kalaiyarasan of Madras fame playing the main antagonist.
Though good word of mouth will ultimately decide the winner among these 4 flicks, Rajini Murugan is expected to enjoy a better weekend opening.
