Dhanush's upcoming movie in Tamil, Maari will have a well known celebrity making his debut as an actor in Kollywood. Vijay Yesudas, son of legendary singer KJ Yesudas, who is a notable singer himself in the South Indian film industry will have an important role to play in Maari, according to the latest report.
It is said that Vijay Yesudas will be playing the role of a police officer with a tinge of grey. With Vijay's characterization taking shape rapidly, almost sixty percent of the movie is said to be completed.
Vijay Yesudas has already acted in a Malayalam movie and was waiting for the right opportunity to be launched as an actor in the Tamil film industry. Looks like his role in Maari has enough depth for him to explore himself as an actor and perhaps establish himself as one.
Maari, which is being directed by Balaji Mohan of Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi fame is touted to be a family entertainer. The movie is being financed by R. Sarathkumar, Raadhika Sarathkumar and Listin Stephen.
The music will be composed by Dhanush's most trusted musician Anirudh Ravichander and the camera will be wielded by Om Prakash. The film which will shortly be edited by GK Prasanna is all set to be distributed by Magic Frames and Escape Artists Motion Pictures.
Kajal Aggarwal is being paired opposite Dhanush for the first time as she was excluded from Vetrimaaran's Polladhavan in 2007 after being signed in to play the female lead which was subsequently bagged by Divya Spandana(Ramya).
