Kollywood witnessed lots of interesting events and announcements last week(6th of April to 12th of April). It is now time to recall some of those crucial moments through our highlights of the week.

Last week started on a compelling note as it saw one of the most fascinating announcement on its first day itself. Yes, Vishal, who was showing interest in the development of Nadigar Sangam said he will contest in the upcoming SIFAA elections.

While it is to be seen if he would pose a major challenge to the reigning president Sarathkumar, actor Suriya did not face any challenges in assembling his entire family on the stage of 36 Vayadhinile's audio launch.

Two important films, Vai Raja Vai and Uttama Villain were given a clean U certificate from the Censor Board last week. It was also declared that Uttama Villain would hit the screens worldwide come May 1st.

After releasing the audio of 36 Vayadhinile to start the week on a positive note, the makers of the film also decided to close out the week perfectly by releasing the official trailer.

Anil Kapoor's Threat To Suriya

Hindi actor Anil Kapoor said legal action would be initiated against Suriya as his upcoming film's title and logo is similar to the logo of a TV series 24, for which Anil has the copyrights. Suriya's next film 24 is being produced under his home production.

When Vijay 59 Moved To Goa

While Vijay is still busy shooting for Puli, his 59th film which will be directed by Atlee is moving ahead in the right direction. Atlee was reportedly seen along with GV Prakash last week in Goa where the two are working on the film's songs.

Vaalu's 'Changeable' Release Date

Silambarasan's Vaalu got yet another release date last week. Soon after sources revealed a date which was May 9th, they also said that the date might change later if things do not work out as planned.

The latest rumour about Superstar Rajinikanth's next flick had Sundar C's name this time around. It was said that Rajinikanth wants his next to be loaded with comedy and commercial elements and that he thinks Sundar C would be the right director for it.

Taapsee replaced Trisha in director Thiru's next movie which will have Jai in the lead. Taapsee was finalized for the role after the VTV girl walked out of the project citing date issues.
