It's the beginning of a new week and it's business as usual. As we have been bringing you highlights of the past week from the world of Tamil cinema, it's time to check out what defined Kollywood last week(30th of March to 5th of April).
What about a confession of sorts to begin with? Yes, Vidya Balan, said in an interview that both Malayalam and Tamil are her native languages and that she would love to work in a Tamil film if someone comes up with a good script.
Next up, a reunion after 27 years. Last week it was confirmed that Radhika will play an important role in Vijay 59. The last time these two artists came together was 27 years ago.
It was also an important week of Raai Laxmi. The Kanchana girl officially bagged her first role to express herself in Hindi cinema as she will be seen playing a cameo in AR Murugadoss's Akira.
The news that made all cinema lovers tear their hair out last week was also a heart-breaker. Kamal Haasan's Uttama Villain which was all set to be released on April 10th was once again postponed last week.

All of a sudden, a few groups started their protest against the release of Karthi's Komban citing that the film showcases their community in bad light. The film immediately managed to get the support of many movie lovers and was subsequently a day before its initially scheduled date.

Last week Yuvan Shankar Raja opened up about his father's absence in his third wedding. The famed musician who married a Muslim girl recently said that his father couldn't attend the wedding due to his "prior appointments".
When Shruti's Loss Was Tamannaah's Gain
Tamannaah bagged Shruti's role in the Karthi-Nagarjuna bilingual film after the latter walked out of the project. Shruti on the other hand went on to state that she hadn't received any notice from PVP and that she is not restrained from signing new projects.
Speculation Of The Week
It was said that Sasi Kumar, who is currently shooting for Bala's Tharai Thappattai will be directing Ilayathalapathy Vijay in his 60th movie. Some reports also claimed that talks between Vijay and Sasi Kumar did take place about Vijay 60.
It's Nayantara For Vikram
Sources close to director Gautham confirmed that Dhruva Natchathiram will go on floors very shortly with Vikram and Nayantara in the lead. It is to be noted that these two celebrities have never come together on screen.
Sivakarthikeyan's Accident Rumours
Sivakarthikeyan confirmed on his social networking site that he is doing fine after some rumours claimed that he met with an accident. The actor wrote, "Good Morning Friends. Read rumours about me. I'm fine. Now in Madurai Shooting for Rajini Murugan. Getting ready for the first look on April 25".
OK Kanmani Official Release Date
After juggling around with the release date of Mani Ratnam's OK Kanmani, the makers of the film officially confirmed that the film will be released on 17th of April. Audio of the movie was also launched last week much to the delight of music lovers.
Samantha's Nepali Avatar
Sources close to Vikram's 10 Enradhukulla stated that Samantha will be sporting the look of a Nepali girl as she will be seen in dual roles. They also revealed that Samantha has been working hard to get the look right.
