OMG! Ilayathalapathy Vijay Is Now The Second Highest Paid Actor
Celebrities' salaries have always interested us for two reasons - one; the numbers are massive which in turn provides us inspiration and two; digging in to know about anything that is secretive excites us. This being the case, If I say Vijay's alleged salary for his next movie will excite you, then that's an understatement.
According to a report, Ilayathalapathy Vijay has received his highest pay cheque for Vijay 59 which is being directed by Atlee and produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu. The alleged amount which is said to be tax free is an enviable ₹30 crore.
If this is what Kalaipuli S Thanu has paid the Kaththi star, then it makes him the second highest paid actor in the whole of South India, next only to Superstar Rajinikanth and on a par with Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan.
The numbers may sound absurd but given Vijay's box office success in the last couple of years, it is entirely feasible for him to have demanded such a huge hike in his salary. Words like 'market' and 'actor in demand' play a huge role in film industry after all.
With speculations surrounding Vijay 60 indicating that AR Murugadoss might helm the actor's 60th film, looks like Vijay is back in business big time, quite literally.

Rajinikanth
Superstar Rajinikanth holds on to his number one position strongly with an alleged salary of ₹35 crore. His next movie however, will go a long way in deciding his pay cheque for his upcoming movies, one might think.
Kamal Haasan
After bouncing back through Vishwaroopam, Kamal Haasan's market value has enhanced and it looks good. With Papanasam becoming a huge hit, Kamal Haasan might stay in the second position unless Vijay overtakes him in the next few years. His salary as of January 2015 was said to be around ₹30 crore.
Ajith Kumar
Thanks to his back to back successes, Ajith claimed the third position up until January with an impressive package of ₹25 crore, but his current position could change very quickly if the latest report on Vijay's salary turns out to be true.
Vijay
Vijay has always maintained a steady demand as far as his salary is concerned. Riding on his recent success, Vijay is growing from strength to strength. As of January his salary was said to be 20 crores and hence a revival in his salary was always on cards.
Suriya
Suriya once touched 25 crores but now has dropped his range, perhaps keeping the big picture in mind. Right now he is acting in his home production, which makes it difficult to gauge his salary. His package at the beginning of this year was around 20 crores.
Vikram
Though it was speculated that his wallet weighed more than usual because of I, he has maintained a steady income for the last couple of years. His last reported salary was ₹12 crore.
Dhanush
Dhanush entered the 10 crore mark this year, thanks to his recent hit flicks. With Dhanush's market expanding with each passing year, it is just a matter of time before he doubles his salary range, feel trade experts.
Sivakarthikeyan
Not only had Sivakarthikeyan grabbed the eighth position at the dawn of this year, but he had done it with some style. Siva has made some serious impact in the last 10 months within the Kollywood fraternity and is causing troubles to some of the established actors. His salary was around 7 crores.
Karthi
Riding on the success of Madras, Karthi had increased his salary to ₹6 crore. It will be interesting to know his salary range in 2016.
Vishal
Vishal is another actor who's been acting in his home production, making it difficult to put a figure on his salary. Going by trade sources, Vishal's salary hasn't changed a lot in the last couple of years. It was said that the actor was earning something close to 5 crores per film.
