It
is
heartening
indeed
to
see
the
box
office
performance
of
Kaaka
Muttai
for
it
is
rare
to
see
a
content
driven
subject
do
well
when
it
comes
to
the
box
office
collections.
Though
Kaaka
Muttai
doesn't
have
the
usual
commercial
elements
which
sadly,
often
leads
to
monetary
success,
it
sure
knows
how
to
entertain
its
audience
without
compromising
on
its
subject
which
highlights
the
potential
of
director
M.
Manikandan.
As
far
as
the
box
office
report
goes,
the
film
has
so
far
survived
the
weekday
scare
by
collecting
well
even
on
the
working
days(usually
collections
drop
drastically
during
weekdays).
According
to
a
trade
source,
the
film
has
collected
₹85
lakh
and
₹82
lakh
on
Monday(8th
June)
and
Tuesday(9th
June)
respectively.
Adding
to
that
the
weekend
collections
of
₹3.35
crore,
the
total
gross
of
the
movie
from
Tamil
Nadu
alone
stands
at
an
impressive
₹5.02
crore.
It
is
to
be
noted
that
the
film
had
collected
₹90
lakh,
₹1.10
crore
and
₹1.35
crore
from
Friday,
Saturday
and
Sunday
respectively.
This
rock
steady
collections
throughout
its
first
week
means
that
the
film
might
beat
the
likes
of
36
Vayadhinile
and
Demonte
Colony
if
it
touches
the
6
crore
mark
by
the
end
of
Thursday.
