Pa
Ranjith,
the
relatively
inexperienced
filmmaker
who
is
currently
directing
the
biggest
Superstar
of
South
Indian
film
industry,
might've
given
away
the
official
title
of
Rajinikanth's
upcoming
film.
In
a
recent
interview,
Ranjith,
who
has
just
two
films
under
his
belt,
has
spoken
about
Rajinikanth's
character
in
the
movie.
According
to
him,
the
role
which
the
Lingaa
star
is
playing
right
now
will
remind
us
about
his
own
character
from
the
1978
classic
Mullum
Malarum.
Stitching
together
the
pieces
of
clues
left
by
the
Attakathi
director
by
the
end
of
his
speech,
it
can
be
said
that
Rajinikanth
might
reprise
his
character
from
Mullum
Malarum,
the
only
difference
being
the
difference
between
the
age
of
his
character.
In
fact,
Ranjith
has
confessed
to
Rajinikanth
that
the
character
Kaali
played
by
the
Superstar
in
Mullum
Malarum
is
one
of
his
favourites
and
that
it
wasn't
coincidence
when
Karthi's
character
in
Madras
was
named
Kaali(Kaleeswaran).
Hence,
Rajinikanth's
next
film
might
be
titled
as
'Kaali'
and
the
official
announcement
from
the
team
is
expected
soon.
It
is
to
be
noted
that
Rajini
has
already
acted
in
a
film
titled
Kaali
in
the
year
1980
which
was
directed
by
I.V.
Sasi.
The
director
has
gone
on
to
say
that
he
had
initially
planned
to
name
his
second
film
as
'Kaali',
but
had
to
change
it
in
the
last
minute
as
many
felt
that
the
title
'Madras'
would
be
apt
as
the
story
was
content
driven
and
not
character
driven.
Rajinikanth
Liked
The
Idea
It
is
also
being
said
that
when
Ranjith
expressed
his
idea
of
naming
his
third
film
as
Kaali,
Rajinikanth
had
liked
the
idea
and
also
agreed
to
reprise
his
role
from
Mullum
Malarum.
Rajinikanth's
Next
Will
Not
Defy
Physics
Rajinikanth
had
liked
the
simplicity
and
originality
of
the
film
Madras
and
thus
requested
Ranjith
to
dish
out
a
similar
film.
This
suggests
that
the
Superstar's
next
flick
will
not
showcase
him
as
a
'superman' who
often
insults
the
laws
of
physics.
Radhika
Apte
As
Rajini's
Heroine?
The
latest
speculation
about
the
project
is
that
actress
Radhika
Apte
is
being
considered
for
a
role
in
the
film.
Though
Radhika
has
refuted
such
claims,
sources
close
to
the
project
have
said
that
the
young
actress
might
be
paired
opposite
Kalaiyarasan
who
is
playing
a
prominent
role
in
the
film.
Project
To
Kick-Start
From
August
With
the
pre-production
works
coming
to
an
end,
the
shooting
of
the
film
is
expected
to
begin
from
the
first
week
of
August.
The
first
schedule
will
begin
in
Malaysia
post
which
the
team
will
shoot
the
remaining
portions
in
Chennai.
Rajinikanth
Needs
A
Blockbuster
With
Kochadaiiyaan
and
Lingaa
failing
to
act
like
an
usual
Rajinikanth
flick
at
the
box
office,
the
Superstar
is
in
some
sort
of
pressure
to
deliver
a
much
needed
hit.
A
blockbuster
here
would
also
spike
the
career
graph
of
Pa
Ranjith
to
place
him
in
a
different
league
altogether.
