Thoongaavanam First Day Box Office Collections: Vedalam Craze Hampers Kamal's Diwali!

The Kamal Haasan-Trisha starrer managed to impress most of the critics upon its release on November 10th, but did Thoongaavanam (Thoongaa Vanam) keep the cash registers ringing on the first day of its release in Tamil Nadu? The box office collections of the film is here.

According to a report, the action-thriller has grossed 4 Crore rupees (approx) on its opening day across Tamil Nadu. As it turns out, the Vedalam craze on the Diwali day has subdued the box office collections of Thoongaavanam, at least in Tamil Nadu.

While the box office report from other parts of India is still awaited, the movie is reportedly performing well in the overseas, due to its non-Indian like treatment.

In the USA, Thoongaavanam has amassed a whopping $75.5K which when converted into Indian rupees becomes, 50 Lakh rupees (approx) from its premiere shows alone.

Due to good word of mouth, the Rajesh M Selva directorial is expected to pull in audiences into theatres throughout India over the next few days.
