Amidst
confusion
and
financial
issues,
Kamal
Haasan's
Uttama
Villain
is
slowly
but
surely
gaining
momentum
at
the
box
office
all
over
the
world.
In
Tamil
Nadu
alone,
the
classical
drama
has
grossed
17.15
crore
rupees
from
its
first
four
days
with
the
fourth
day(Tuesday)
contributing
2.93
crore
rupees.
The
fifth
day(Wednesday)
box
office
collections
in
the
home
state
is
estimated
at
1.5
crore
rupees,
indicating
a
dip
in
the
collections.
When
it
comes
to
the
weekend(Friday,
Saturday
and
Sunday)
collections
in
the
overseas
market,
the
film
has
particularly
done
well
at
the
Land
of
Liberty(USA).
With
Sunday
contributing
$81,382
the
weekend
collections
in
the
US
stands
at
an
impressive
$465,382
which
amounts
to
a
whopping
2.98
crore
rupees.
While
the
collections
in
countries
like
Malaysia
and
Australia
were
steady
throughout
the
weekend,
Uttama
Villain
has
taken
a
back
seat
in
Canada
and
United
Kingdom.
When
Malaysia
and
Australia
have
contributed
MYR
537,141(₹95.12
lakh)
and
A$140,208(₹69.30
lakh)
respectively,
Canada's
weekend
collections
stands
at
$48,037
which
is
30.58
lakh
rupees.
In
the
UK,
the
collections
on
Monday
were
reportedly
good
but
Tuesday
saw
a
sudden
drop
in
the
business.
In
its
first
5
days,
the
film
has
managed
to
pile
a
mere
£82,798
which
amounts
to
80
lakh
rupees.
As
of
Tuesday,
the
worldwide
gross
of
Uttama
Villain
is
estimated
at
29.3
crore
rupees
and
the
official
confirmation
on
that
particular
bit
is
awaited.

parts
of
the
world:
Joins
The
$500K
Mark
According
to
the
latest
report,
the
film
has
already
crossed
the
coveted
half
a
million
mark
in
the
USA
joining
other
biggies
like
I,
Yennai
Arindhaal
and
OK
Kanmani.
The
total
collections
there
now
stands
at
$508,137.
Movie
Trimmed!
While
the
Tamil
version
of
the
movie
has
been
trimmed
by
12
minutes
in
some
states,
the
Telugu
version
has
been
trimmed
by
21
minutes,
indicating
Uttama
Villain's
poor
run
at
Telangana
and
Andhra
Pradesh
areas.
Facing
Heavy
Losses?
It
is
said
that
Ganga(Kanchana
2)
is
still
ahead
of
Uttama
Villain(Telugu)
and
that
the
Kamal
Haasan
movie
is
heading
for
a
loss
leaving
the
distributors
in
a
spot
of
bother.
Same
Story
In
The
USA
When
the
Tamil
version
of
the
movie
is
doing
great
business
in
the
USA,
the
Telugu
version
has
tanked
at
the
box
office.
It
is
reported
that
the
dubbed
version
had
only
fetched
$41K
which
amounts
to
26.28
lakh
rupees
from
its
first
weekend.
Kerala
And
Karnataka
Remains
A
Mystery
It
is
still
not
clear
how
the
movie
has
fared
in
Karnataka
and
Kerala
as
the
trade
sources
from
these
regions
have
failed
to
divulge
the
box
office
information.
However,
it
is
said
that
the
movie
is
doing
'decent' business
in
these
two
regions.
Trouble
At
The
Top
Uttama
Villain
is
yet
to
be
released
in
many
North
Indian
regions
including
Pune
and
Mumbai,
according
to
a
report.
With
the
movie
already
facing
troubles
down
south,
its
inability
to
reach
the
North
Indian
audience
only
adds
to
the
already
existing
woes.
Mixed
Reviews
Not
Helping
Either
While
a
set
of
fans
are
claiming
that
Uttama
Villain
is
Kamal's
best
till
date,
their
contemporaries
claim
that
the
movie
is
actually
boring
and
is
difficult
to
understand,
thanks
to
its
complicated
narration.
Will
It
Emerge
As
A
Winner?
Despite
the
mixed
reviews
and
financial
woes,
it
is
to
be
seen
if
Uttama
Villain
can
emerge
as
a
winner
at
the
end
of
the
day.
If
it
does,
it
would
definitely
be
a
fitting
tribute
to
the
legendary
Kamal
Haasan
and
his
unbelievable
dedication
towards
Tamil
cinema.
