First Weekend Box Office Predictions: Vaalu Outshines VSOP!
Simbu's Vaalu and Arya's Vasuvum Saravananum Onna Padichavanga (VSOP) had a worldwide release yesterday (14th August). Now, it is time for us to gauge the first day box office collections of both these movies and also their first weekend collections
While VSOP had a taciturn opening, Vaalu had a huge buzz engulfing it prior to its release which was quite understandable considering the movie's bumpy ride in the last three years.
The movie was also supported well by Simbu fans who were determined to make Vaalu a huge hit. Hence as expected, Vaalu did perform better than VSOP on its first day all over Tamil Nadu, according to trade sources.
However, the Arya-Tamannaah starrer might have a slight advantage over Vaalu in the coming days as it has managed to garner marginally better reviews from fans and critics.
This being the case, trade analysts have indicated that VSOP might do well in A centres while Vaalu might score big in B and C centres, thanks to Simbu's fan base.
But at the end of the day, the box office success of both these movies might depend upon the all important word of mouth, as it is in the case of most of the films if not all.

Vaalu First Day Predictions
On its opening day (Friday), it is predicted that the film might have gathered close to 3 crore rupees from Tamil Nadu alone as it had a packed house reception in most of the theatres.
Vaalu Second Day Predictions
On its second day (Saturday), Vaalu is expected to collect close to 2.5 crores from all over the state. The estimation has been made after taking into account that today (August 15th) is a National holiday and that it might pull family audience into theatres.
Vaalu Third Day Predictions
The first Sunday (third day) of the movie might witness good collections according to trade analysts. Ideally, it should yet again collect approximately 2.5 crore rupees.
Vaalu Total Weekend Collections
If my basic math is correct, Vaalu should approximately end up with close to 8 crore rupees from its opening weekend from Tamil Nadu alone. As of now, the numbers look decent enough for a Simbu starrer.
VSOP First Day Predictions
Arya's Vasuvum Saravananum Onna Padichavanga might've collected 1.5 crore rupees (approx) on its opening day (Friday). The estimation from trade analysts have been made based on the movie's occupancy.
VSOP Second Day Predictions
VSOP is expected to collect big on its second and third day. On its second day (Saturday), the total Tamil Nadu box office collection is estimated at 2 crore rupees.
VSOP Third Day Predictions
On its third day (Sunday), the movie might perform better than its first two days by collecting close to 2.5 crores.
Total Weekend Collections
The total weekend collections of VSOP from Tamil Nadu is estimated at 6 crore rupees.
Vaalu Might Outshine VSOP
According to the early estimates, Simbu's Vaalu might convincingly collect more than Arya's VSOP by the end of the first weekend as Vaalu might outshine VSOP in B and C centres.
