The
latest
buzz
has
it
that
Ilayathalapathy
Vijay
will
join
hands
with
director
KS
Ravikumar
to
reproduce
the
1992
Rajinikanth
starrer,
Mannan.
According
to
a
report
from
Behindwoods,
the
official
remake
of
Mannan
might
go
on
floors
next
year,
once
Vijay
is
done
with
his
60th
movie,
which
is
to
be
helmed
by
ATM
director
Bharathan.
If
this
development
materializes,
Sivaji
Productions
might
most
probably
bankroll
the
project.
The
original
version
of
the
film
was
directed
and
produced
by
P
Vasu
and
actor
Prabhu,
respectively.
It
is
to
be
noted
that
Thala
Ajith
had
earlier
tasted
success
by
remaking
one
of
Rajinikanth's
superhit
movies,
Billa.
It
is
to
be
seen
if
Vijay
can
emulate
what
Ajith
did
in
2007.
Meanwhile,
Theri,
which
is
being
directed
by
Atlee,
has
reportedly
reached
its
post
production
stage.
The
highly
anticipated
film,
which
has
Samantha
and
Amy
Jackson
in
important
roles,
will
release
next
year,
most
probably
in
the
month
of
April.
While
George
C
Williams
of
Kaththi
fame
has
handled
the
camera,
GV
Prakash
Kumar
has
taken
care
of
the
musical
bit
of
the
film.
Produced
by
Kalaipuli
S
Thanu,
Theri
has
Prabhu,
Raadhika
Sarathkumar,
Mahendran
and
Santhanam
in
supporting
roles.
