Now that the film has raked in more than a Million USD in North America, its box office performance in Tamil Nadu and other Indian states becomes of vital importance to its overall monetary success.
So how has 24 fared in its home state and other neighbouring states so far? 'Quite impressive' would be the immediate response by anyone going through the weekend box office figures of the movie.
By the end of its three-day theatrical run in Tamil Nadu, the Vikram Kumar-directed film is said to have grossed more than 17 Crores (approx).
In Chennai alone, the weekend box office collections of the Suriya-starrer has crossed 1.5 Crore rupees, according to a report.
If you think these numbers are decent enough, wait until we update you with the box office figures of the movie in states like Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
From both the Telugu speaking states combined, the film bankrolled by Suriya, has garnered a whopping 17 Crore rupees (approx). Apparently, 24 is turning out to be a special flick in AP and Telangana.
Kerala too, has contributed handsomely towards the overall collections of the film. In God's own country, the time travel thiller has managed to gather an impressive 5.5 Crores (approx) from its first three days.
Having collected big in the USA, the movie isn't doing bad either in places like Australia and France. While it has gone on to become Suriya's biggest opener ever in Australia by collecting A$187,047 (91 Lakhs INR), it has grossed 67,977€ (51 Lakhs INR) in France, according to a report.
Adding up all the numbers, it can be safely said that 24 has collected more than 50 Crore rupees worldwide, from its opening weekend.
It is to be noted that we have not considered collections from rest of India and other parts of the world where the movie was released last Friday (May 6th).
