The much awaited official theatrical trailer of Suriya's upcoming film 24 is here. Directed by Vikram Kumar and bankrolled by Suriya under his home banner 2D Entertainment, the film is a sci-fi thriller based on time travel. Let us see what the recently released trailer of 24 has in store for us.
First up, the 2 minute 10 second trailer gives us a clear idea that the movie will revolve around the antagonist Athreya, played by Suriya, who pursues a time machine (the time machine here might well be a watch) in order to get back his lost life.
While many English flicks have explored similar concept in the past, the Yavarum Nalam director has brought in the family angle. To be more precise, 24 might narrate the story of a father, who creates a time machine and then later tries to avoid it from falling into the hands of his own son.
Now that the presumed main plot sounds interesting, it all comes down to the technical aspects of the movie. As expected, AR Rahman's background score is intriguing to say the least. It also matches up to some high quality visuals, displayed by the trailer.
The colour and tone used in the sharply cut trailer stands out till the very end. Kudos to cinematographer Tirru for producing slick and eye-pleasing visuals. We are in for a visual treat if this is what 24 the movie has to offer us throughout.
While the VFX and other technical aspects looks alright, the overall pace of the trailer seems to have been marred somewhat by the scenes involving Samantha.
If Vikram Kumar's narration takes care of the uneventful scenes, that romance can sometime bring into a movie like 24, we might well have a winner at hand.
