The Tamil and Telugu versions of Suriya-starrer sci-fi action thriller 24, will release in a record number of 267 screens in the US on May 5.
"This will be the biggest release ever for Suriya in the US. Both the versions of the film will release in approximately 267 screens, with special premieres planned on May 5," a source told IANS.
The film is being distributed by CineGalaxy Inc, whose latest release in the US was Ilayathalapathy Vijay-starrer Tamil actioner Theri.
Throughout the world, the film is expected to be released in close to 2150 screens, making it one of the biggest releases of Suriya.
Also starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Nithya Menen in prominent roles, the film is tipped to be laced with time travel concept.
"Director Vikram Kumar has simplified the concept of time travel for all type of audiences," actor Mohan Raman had recently said at a press meet.
In the film, Suriya plays triple roles including the antagonist. 24, which has music by two time Oscar winner AR Rahman, is jointly produced by Suriya's home banner 2D Entertainment and Studio Green. In India, the film releases on May 6.
Speaking at a press meet, the Vaaranam Aayiram actor has said 24 will be on the lines of a Hollywood movie produced by Disney.
"'24' will be a good summer treat. It will be like a Disney movie that can be watched by one and all," he said.
Meanwhile, in one of his latest interviews, Suriya has revealed that Vikram Kumar penned the character of Athreya (antagonist) with lot of care as this particular character is close to his heart.
Watch out for Athreya and his mannerisms when the film hits the big screen on May 6th.
