release
in
a
record
number
of
267
screens
in
the
US
on
May
5.
"This
will
be
the
biggest
release
ever
for
Suriya
in
the
US.
Both
the
versions
of
the
film
will
release
in
approximately
267
screens,
with
special
premieres
planned
on
May
5," a
source
told
IANS.
The
film
is
being
distributed
by
CineGalaxy
Inc,
whose
latest
release
in
the
US
was
Ilayathalapathy
Vijay-starrer
Tamil
actioner
Theri.
Throughout
the
world,
the
film
is
expected
to
be
released
in
close
to
2150
screens,
making
it
one
of
the
biggest
releases
of
Suriya.
Also
starring
Samantha
Ruth
Prabhu
and
Nithya
Menen
in
prominent
roles,
the
film
is
tipped
to
be
laced
with
time
travel
concept.
"Director
Vikram
Kumar
has
simplified
the
concept
of
time
travel
for
all
type
of
audiences,"
actor
Mohan
Raman
had
recently
said
at
a
press
meet.
In
the
film,
Suriya
plays
triple
roles
including
the
antagonist.
24,
which
has
music
by
two
time
Oscar
winner
AR
Rahman,
is
jointly
produced
by
Suriya's
home
banner
2D
Entertainment
and
Studio
Green.
In
India,
the
film
releases
on
May
6.
Speaking
at
a
press
meet,
the
Vaaranam
Aayiram
actor
has
said
24
will
be
on
the
lines
of
a
Hollywood
movie
produced
by
Disney.
"'24' will
be
a
good
summer
treat.
It
will
be
like
a
Disney
movie
that
can
be
watched
by
one
and
all,"
he
said.
Meanwhile,
in
one
of
his
latest
interviews,
Suriya
has
revealed
that
Vikram
Kumar
penned
the
character
of
Athreya
(antagonist)
with
lot
of
care
as
this
particular
character
is
close
to
his
heart.
