Can Sunaina Cash In On Her Upcoming Releases?
Though Sunaina was last seen in Ilayathalapathy Vijay's Theri, in which she played a cameo, the Kadhalil Vizhunthen girl has not been seen in a full-fledged role for quite sometime now.
That is why her upcoming Tamil film Nambiyar, scheduled to release this Friday (August 19), is a comeback of sorts for the 27-year-old actress and she is happy about it.
On 'Kavalai Vendam'
"Kavalai Vendam boasts an ensemble cast. So initially, we were not able to talk to each other. But with time, we got along with each other well," she told the leading daily.
Difficulties Faced While Shooting
"We couldn't even enact a simple scene because RJ Balaji would keep cracking jokes! I don't know how Deekay managed to complete the film as we were laughing throughout," she has said.
On Cameo Roles
When asked if she would do more number of cameo roles, she has said: "Why would I say no? But, I was disappointed as people promoted my cameo in 'Theri' as a small role. It gave a wrong signal that I was trying to cash in on the one-minute role."
Other Cast & Crew
Kavalai Vendam also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Shruthi Ramakrishnan, Swetha Ashok and Karunakaran among others. While Abinandhan Ramanujam has handled the cinematography, Leon James has composed the tunes. The film will be edited by TS Suresh.
Release Date
Kavalai Vendam is scheduled to hit the screen on October 7th. The film will enjoy a long weekend because of the festivals surrounding the date.
Sunaina's Upcoming Films
Apart from Nambiar and Deekay's Kavalai Vendam, Sunaina doesn't have any other projects under her belt. Stay tuned for further updates.
Nambiyar has Srikanth playing the lead.
"The movie focuses on Srikanth's character, who has to deal with a negative voice he hears inside his head which makes him doubt himself. How I get involved in the situation, and how he deals with his life forms the crux of the story," she told Deccan Chronicle.
Also starring Santhanam, John Vijay, Delhi Ganesh and Jayaprakash in important roles, the film is directed by Ganeshaa and produced by Vandana and Shaalini under Golden Friday Films.
Sunaina is also awaiting the release of Jiiva's Kavalai Vendam, in which she is paired opposite Bobby Simha.
Talking about Kavalai Vendam Sunaina has said: "I play a simple, elegant and polite girl, who is madly in love with Jiiva. The film is based on relationship drama and more."
