Upon
its
release,
24
is
well
on
its
way
to
become
a
major
box
office
hit
in
Suriya's
career
as
positive
reviews
are
being
poured
in
by
critics
as
well
as
movie
lovers.
But
the
film's
leading
lady
Samantha
has
admitted
that
she
did
not
expect
the
film
to
be
as
good
as
it
is
now,
and
that
24
has
exceeded
her
expectations
in
terms
of
its
making.
"I
was
carried
away
when
the
story
was
narrated
to
me.
The
exciting
part
is,
the
film
has
exceeded
my
expectations
in
terms
of
its
making.
The
manner
in
which
the
story
has
been
conceptualised
and
executed
is
way
ahead
of
what
I
imagined
it
to
be," the
Theri
actress
has
told
to
Times
of
India.
Talking
about
the
heroines'
contribution,
Samantha
has
said,
"Both
of
us
(Nithya
Menon
&
herself)
have
substantial
characters
in
the
movie.
I
play
Satya,
one
of
Suriya's
pairs
-
it's
a
character
which
is
very
much
connected
to
the
plot.
The
actresses
in
this
film
are
not
for
skin
show,
or
just
for
the
heck
of
it.
They
have
a
purpose
in
the
script
-
the
roles
have
been
interwoven
beautifully."
This
is
not
the
first
time
Samantha
is
working
with
Vikram
Kumar,
for
his
previous
superhit
Telugu
flick
Manam
had
the
Anjaan
girl
playing
an
important
role.
Speaking
about
the
director
Samantha
has
said,
"I
was
aware
of
his
capabilities
-
the
comfort
level
was
more
this
time.
The
shooting
atmosphere
was
always
chilled
out,
despite
the
film
having
a
demanding
script."
24
also
happens
to
be
Samantha's
second
film
with
Suriya
and
the
actress
thinks
he
has
outdone
himself
in
this
film
and
that
his
role
Athreya
is
one
of
his
best
till
date.
"He
(Suriya)
has
done
a
brilliant
job,
and
this
character
of
his,
I
think,
is
easily
the
best
one
of
his
career," Samantha
has
said.
