Is It Fair To Use Cinema As A Gateway To Enter Politics?

Tamil Nadu, over the years, has been a breeding ground for those actors and actresses who have decided to shift career from acting to politics. So is cinema a gateway to politics?

The answer is a resounding yes. From MGR to Vadivelu, many actors and actresses have had their date with politics as it is easier for entertainers to connect with public.

Also, isn't it an added advantage if you are a famous celebrity? It just becomes that much more easier for popular personalities to gain the trust of the people. And gaining trust is the most important aspect of politics.

Having said that, cinema is an entertainment medium and people involved in it must look to focus on the job at hand rather than thinking about starting a career in politics beforehand.

Of course, actors and actresses can go on to become politicians, but using cinema as a gateway to enter politics isn't a fair deal.
