Kousalya Plays Goddess In Golfer-turned-actor Vignesh's Next, A Horror Flick Titled 'Uthra'

Golfer-turned-actor Vignesh's next is a horror film titled Uthra. Vignesh, who made his acting debut in Pesu, which had Yuvan Shankar Raja's music, has said his priority right now is movies and that his initial career option golfing, can take a back seat.

Though Pesu is yet to hit the big screen, Vignesh, who is all set to embrace his stage name Vishwa, is confident about his upcoming movie, which marks the comeback of yesteryear actress Kousalya in the role of a Goddess.

Vignesh In Pesu

"'Uthra' is a horror film sans any ghost. The film is directed by Naveen KBB, who had earlier directed 'Nellai Santhippu' and had penned the story of the recent release 'Sagaptham'. It was interesting and challenging to work in a horror film.

Naveen Sir was extremely friendly and had oodles of patience. As the star cast comprises predominantly newbies, he would wait patiently until we got the expressions right," Vignesh told Times of India.

When questioned about his new name, he has said, "Since there is already an actor of the same name, Naveen Sir christened me Vishwa. He found the name appealing and strong. We are on the verge of wrapping up the shoot for 'Uthra'. 'Pesu' will release soon after."

Naveen, the director of Uthra, has revealed that the movie will have an interesting conversation between the Goddess and one of the characters.

"'Uthra', a horror flick, revolves around six college students, who are on a trip to Korangani village where they come across Uthra, a ghost. The star cast includes Vishwa, Vivant, Raksha and Roshni. 90s star Kousalya is all set to make a comeback in the movie in the role of Goddess Amman.

There is an interesting altercation between God and a character in the movie where they argue about how a bad person can enter a temple when alive, but a good person, who died under unnatural circumstances, cannot enter the premises, just because he or she is a ghost. We are planning to release the film in August as an Independence Day special," he has told to Times of India.
