Mani Ratnam Watches His Assistant's Film, Calls It Great!

Film-maker Sudha Kongara Prasad, erstwhile assistant of maverick director Mani Ratnam, has impressed her mentor with her latest Tamil-Hindi bilingual Irudhi Suttru, which features R Madhavan as a boxing coach.

"He quite enjoyed the film. He told me, 'Great film, good show'. He hugged me and said, 'You will reach great heights'. He's eager to watch my next film," Sudha told IANS.

The film, which also stars Ritika Singh, has turned out to be a money spinner. The Tamil version alone raked in over 15 Crore rupees in just two weeks from the day of its release on January 29th.

Irudhi Suttru narrates a story that deals with the relationship between a washed out boxing coach and his student, a fisherwoman.

Sudha will next work on the Telugu remake of Irudhi Suttru. While actor Venkatesh will essay the role played by Madhavan, the team is yet to finalize other cast and crew.
