Not
sure
about
others,
but
2016
has
started
on
a
brilliant
note
for
all
Tamil
movie
buffs,
for
two
distinctively
attractive
trailers
have
released
to
make
this
brand
new
year
that
much
more
interesting.
While
Bala's
Tharai
Thappattai
is
what
you
usually
get
from
the
Paradesi
film-maker
(raw
and
eccentric),
Gautham
Menon's
Achcham
Yenbadhu
Madamaiyada
is
largely
breezy
with
a
surprise
element.
A
common
feature
that
stands
out
in
both
the
trailers
is
the
'music'.
Tharai
Thappattai,
being
Maestro
Ilaiyaraaja's
1000th
film,
is
expected
to
change
the
way
we
feel
about
folk
music.
On
the
other
hand,
music
in
Achcham
Yenbadhu
Madamaiyada
might
recreate
the
Vinnaithaandi
Varuvaayaa
magic
as
Gautham
Menon
and
the
'Mozart
of
Madras'
AR
Rahman
have
joined
hands
for
the
second
time.
Moving
on,
going
by
the
trailer
of
Tharai
Thappattai,
the
film
might
narrate
a
story
of
revenge,
a
tried
and
tested
formula
of
Tamil
cinema.
Bala
too
has
handled
similar
scripts
in
Pithamagan
and
Avan
Ivan.
It
remains
to
be
seen
what
Tharai
Thappattai
can
offer
different.
Achcham
Yenbadhu
Madamaiyada
however,
looks
interesting
as
the
film
might
house
some
thrilling
sequences,
cloaked
under
a
vivacious
romantic
flick.
While
Tharai
Thappattai
is
expected
to
be
released
on
January
14th
on
the
auspicious
day
of
'Pongal'
festival,
Achcham
Yenbadhu
Madamaiyada
will
hit
the
big
screen
this
summer.
