Even
before
the
theatrical
release
of
superstar
Rajinikanth's
Kabali,
the
film's
producer
'Kalaipuli'
S
Thanu
had
expressed
confidence
over
the
movie's
performance
at
the
box
office
all
over
the
world.
He
had
said
the
Pa
Ranjith
directorial
will
become
the
first
Tamil
film
to
cross
the
500
Crore
mark.
"I
expect
the
movie
(Kabali)
to
make
more
than
Rs
500
crore
when
it
releases.
It
will
be
bigger
than
'Baahubali'
because
that
is
the
power
and
stature
of
Rajinikanth," Thanu
was
quoted
as
saying
to
Firstpost.
Though
the
film-maker's
claim
seemed
to
be
too
tall
for
one's
liking
in
the
world
of
reality,
it
now
looks
possible
as
Kabali
is
off
to
a
great
start.
In
foreign
countries
alone,
Kabali
is
said
to
have
grossed
over
75
Crore
rupees
from
its
opening
weekend,
which
is
so
far
the
best
among
Indian
flicks.
In
India
too,
the
gangster
drama
is
minting
money
with
record
collections
at
many
places.
In
Chennai
alone,
the
film
has
grossed
4.55
Crores
from
the
first
4
days,
it
is
said.
In
Karnataka
and
Kerala,
Kabali
has
grossed
a
whopping
9.78
Crores
and
10.45
Crores
respectively
(opening
weekend),
becoming
the
first
ever
Tamil
film
to
do
so
in
these
two
states.
At
Kochi
multiplexes
alone
the
movie
has
grossed
over
1
Crore
rupees,
which
is
huge.
With
Kabali
still
going
strong
all
over
the
world,
the
Rajinikanth-starrer
is
expected
to
cross
the
500
Crore
mark
by
the
end
of
its
second
weekend.
Advance
booking
too,
is
said
to
be
pretty
impressive
as
fans
and
moviegoers
are
busy
booking
tickets
to
view
the
film
in
its
second
weekend.
"Extraordinary
advance
bookings
for
this
weekend.
Will
be
giving
8
shows
for
#Kabali
,
shows
starting
9.15
am," Rakesh
Gowthaman,
Director,
Vettri
Theatres
posted
on
his
Twitter
page.
