Not surprisingly, Suriya's latest release 24 has garnered positive reviews from critics across India. Centered around the concept of time travel, the film is directed by Vikram Kumar.
Rating the movie 4 out of 5, Sreeju Sudhakaran of BollywoodLife.com stated that 24 is the best time travel movie our country has ever made.
Sreeju went on to say, "This is the kind of flick you would want to go back in time and watch all over again. Or you could go for the next screening!"

Times of India too, rated the film 4 out of 5 and said, "It is not often that we see a big star choosing to take a risk with a script that is not simplistic or formulaic, especially when his last few films have underperformed at the box office, but here Suriya pulls it off admirably."
"'24' with all its qualities is a step in the right direction for Tamil cinema," posted Behindwoods and awarded the movie 3.25 stars out of 5.
Sify movies called the film a perfectly crafted science-fiction entertainer. Rating it 4 out of 5, sify said, "'24' is a good attempt from Vikram Kumar and it is a must watch."
IndiaGlitz rated the film 3.3 out of 5 and said, "'Suriya's performance, Rahman's music, Vikram Kumar's brilliant handling and narration of a story with time travel as its core and the superlative visual experience outdo the shortcomings of '24'. It is a must watch."
Siddharth Srinivas of Only Kollywood rated the film 3.25 out of 5. He said, "24 is an extremely well-presented show, with Suriya driving the chariot. Vikram Kumar continues to instill faith into his viewers that complicated content can easily be toned down to make it understandable to common audiences, without dumbing it down too far."
