Santhanam's
upcoming
film
Dhilluku
Dhuddu
is
a
spoof
on
horror
films.
The
movie,
directed
by
Rambala
of
'Lollu
Sabha'
fame,
has
Shananya
playing
the
female
lead.
"In
the
last
12
months,
Tamil
cinema
has
seen
over
half
a
dozen
horror
films.
The
makers
of
'Dhilukku
Dhuddu'
didn't
want
to
tread
on
the
same
path
and
hence,
decided
to
infuse
the
spoof
angle
in
the
story," a
source
from
the
movie's
unit
has
said.
Speaking
to
Deccan
Chronicle,
the
Inimey
Ippadithaan
actor
has
revealed
about
the
movie
and
the
character
he
plays
in
it.
"I
play
a
character
named
Kumar,
son
of
Anandraj
and
look
after
my
dad's
shop
that
hires
stunt
materials.
He
(Kumar)
is
a
happy-go-lucky
person,
does
not
hesitate
and
always
challenges
everyone.
People
who
play
cards
use
this
colloquial
term
'Dhillukku
Dhuddu',
when
they
come
to
the
last
round
of
the
game
after
continuously
losing
money,
my
character
is
similar
in
nature."
While
Saurabh
Shukla
plays
an
important
character,
Shananya
will
be
seen
playing
his
daughter.
"The
story
revolves
around
Kumar
(me),
and
a
North
Indian
family.
While
Bollywood
actor
Saurabh
Shukla
plays
a
marwari
financier,
Shanaya
has
been
cast
as
his
daughter,
who
plays
a
student,"
Santhanam
has
said.
Thaman
has
been
roped
in
to
compose
tunes
for
the
film.
"He
(Thaman)
has
composed
wonderful
numbers,
and
music
will
be
a
big
plus
to
the
movie.
In
fact,
for
the
first
time,
I
will
be
shaking
a
leg
for
a
'mass' number,
titled
'Sivan
Maganda'.
Ashok
Raja,
known
for
his
tough
dance
steps
is
the
choreographer
for
this
devotional
number.
I
pulled
it
off
after
rigorous
rehearsals."
Dhilluku
Dhuddu
will
be
releasing
in
mid-June.
The
team
had
recently
released
the
teaser
of
the
film,
which
has
been
received
well
by
Santhanam
fans.
