Suriya's
recently
released
sci-fi
thriller
24
performed
exceedingly
well
at
the
worldwide
box
office
in
its
opening
weekend.
But
given
its
whopping
budget,
it
is
important
for
24
to
continue
its
good
run
in
order
to
fall
on
the
profit
side
of
things.
So,
how
has
the
time
traveling
flick
performed
in
its
second
weekend?
According
to
reliable
sources,
the
Vikram
Kumar
directorial
has
grossed
close
to
3.9
Crore
rupees
from
its
second
weekend
in
Chennai
alone.
Though
this
seems
to
be
an
impressive
number,
24
still
has
a
long
way
to
go
before
it
can
be
declared
a
hit
at
the
Chennai
box
office.
In
the
USA
though,
the
movie
bankrolled
by
Suriya
under
his
home
banner
2D
Entertainment,
has
hit
the
$1.5
Million
mark,
which
is
a
tremendous
feat
for
any
Tamil
movie.
"As
you
read
this,
#24TheFilm
crosses
$
1.5
million
mark
[₹
10
cr+]
at
NORTH
AMERICA
box-office.
Still
counting...
An
ENVIABLE
feat!
@Rentrak," Taran
Adarsh,
a
leading
trade
analyst
wrote
on
his
official
social
media
page.
On
its
second
Friday
(13th
May)
alone,
the
movie
had
collected
an
impressive
$58,966
in
North
America,
which
had
taken
its
gross
to
$1,351,954.
By
the
end
of
its
second
Sunday
(15th
May),
24
had
crossed
the
prestigious
$1.5
Million
mark,
making
it
a
hit
in
the
Unites
States
of
America
and
Canada.
Cine
Galaxy,
the
company
that
has
distributed
the
movie
in
North
America
is
understandably
elated
over
the
film's
performance
and
is
now
looking
forward
to
release
superstar
Rajinikanth's
Kabali.
"The
biggest
asset
of
the
film
('24')
is
proving
to
be
the
novel
genre
and
the
freshness
of
the
film.
The
audiences
are
also
going
gaga
over
all
the
three
avatars
which
Suriya
dons
in
the
film
and
are
saying
this
is
his
best
performance
ever.
Reason
enough
to
watch,
isn't
it?
Meanwhile,
CineGalaxy
Inc..
has
also
begun
preparations
for
a
grand
release
of
Superstar
Rajinikanth's
'Kabali'.
We'll
soon
give
you
updates," Cine
Galaxy
posted
on
its
social
media
page.
