Ilayathalapathy Vijay's latest release Theri continues to break box office records. The latest one to join the list has to do with the famous Mayajaal multiplex in Chennai.
The film, directed by Atlee, has managed to pull in more than a Lakh viewers.
"#Theri creates history at #Mayajaal, crosses 1 lakh footfalls in 13 days, fastest ever. 100,077 viewers in 13 days, gross = Rs 1.21 Cr. Fab," leading trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai posted on his official social networking page.
The worldwide box office collections of the film is said to be racing towards the 150 Crore mark. According to a report, the action entertainer, bankrolled by 'Kalaipuli' S Thanu, has grossed 141.67 Crore rupees from its first 13 days of theatrical run.
Collecting a whopping 66.97 Crores from Tamil Nadu alone, Theri is one of Vijay's best performer ever at the box office. From other parts of India, the film has reportedly amassed 30 Crores.
The overseas collections looks impressive as well. It is said that foreign centres have contributed a massive 44.7 Crore rupees towards the overall collections of the movie.
If the above mentioned numbers turn out to be true, the movie might have already crossed the 150 Crore mark, considering the 14th day (Wednesday) collection from all over the world.
Meanwhile, actor-filmmaker Raghava Lawrence has thanked Vijay for arranging a special show of Theri for 60 kids, taken care by the trust owned by Lawrence.
"Hi.. Friends and Fans! my 60 children's wanted to watch the latest movie Theri.. I called and informed ilaya thalapathy vijay he said okay nanba I'll arrange. I thought he ll arrange the tickets but surprisingly he arranged a theater a special show only for my children's.. My all children's and me are very happy .. I would like to thank my Nanba Vijay for making my children's happy.." Lawrence wrote on his Facebook page.
