We all know that Ilayathalapathy Vijay's Theri was blessed with a huge weekend opening at the worldwide box office, making it one of Vijay's best in his career so far.
Now, according to the latest report, the first week (April 14 to April 20) box office collections of the action entertainer in the state of Tamil Nadu has been divulged.
It is said that the Atlee directorial went on to amass a massive 47 Crore rupees from its first week in Tamil Nadu alone.
"Mid Week Box-Office - #Theri continues to be rock steady, as pressure 4 tickets during week days is strong." Sreedhar Pillai, a leading trade analyst, wrote on his official social media page.
In Chennai, the film produced by 'Kalaipuli' S Thanu, has minted around 5 Crores so far. Despite the fact that two new movies will hit the big screen from tomorrow (April 22), Theri is expected to stay in all main screens in Chennai.
In USA and Canada, the film has collected $945,496 from its opening weekend.
"Great response from the movie lovers and Vijay fans across North America. They have made it a big hit. By the end of the first weekend it has surpassed the blockbuster 'Kaththi'. 'Theri' is Therrific and racing towards million dollars in 1st week and it's a record." Sanjay of Cine Galaxy has reportedly said.
Speaking to IndiaGlitz, Thanu has said, his decision of selecting budding distributors has worked in favour of the film.
"I have selected new and budding distributors for this film. They have put a phenomenal efforts to prove their talent in marketing the film and that has resulted in a huge success. In the daily advertisements I am going to give the details of the collections in each place with proper evidence," he has said.
