Last
month,
the
much-loved
Vijay
Sethupathi
became
the
talk
of
the
town
when
96
opened
to
a
thunderous
response
at
the
box
office
and
received
rave
reviews
from
all
corners.
An
emotional
romantic-drama,
the
film
worked
big
time,
thanks
to
its
relatable
plot
and
Makkal
Selvan's
effective
chemistry
with
Trisha.
Shortly
after
the
film
became
a
hit,
the
Tollywood
producer
Dil
Raju
acquired
its
remake
rights.
Moreover,
rumours
of
Nani
and
Samantha
Akkineni
doing
the
remake
began
doing
the
rounds.
However,
these
plans
fell
apart
in
no
time.
Sam
declared
that
96
should
never
be
remade,
while
the
'Natural
Star'
opted
out
of
the
proposed
remake.
Now,
the
latest
update
is
that
Dil
Raju
is
finding
it
extremely
hard
to
find
the
lead
actors.
As
per
a
report
carried
by
Gulte,
after
Nani's
exit,
Dil
Raju
approached
the
likes
of
Ram
and
Sharwanand
for
the
film.
However,
they
refused
to
accept
the
offer.
The
buzz
is
that
these
men
do
not
want
to
experiment
too
much.
Gulte
further
speculates
that
these
stars
might
also
be
a
bit
hesitant
to
essay
a
role
originally
played
by
an
actor
of
Vijay
Sethupathi's
calibre.
Either
way,
this
is
an
unexpected
situation
and
it
will
be
worth
watching
whether
Dil
Raju
is
finally
able
to
zero
in
on
the
lead
pair
or
not.
