There's no denying the fact that Suman is one of the most popular and respected names in the South cinema today. A remake of the Bollywood classic Deewar, the film was a crime-drama and saw Suman essay the role immortalised by Shashi Kapoor in the Hindi version. Suman played Rajinikanth's on-screen brother in this R Krishnamurthy directorial and received rave reviews thanks to his raw intensity.
Directed by Sarath, Bava Bavamaridi was an engaging drama and it emerged as one of the biggest hits of 1993. A remake of the Tamil hit Pandithurai, the film featured a beautiful performance from Suman and helped him bag a Nandi award.
Directed by S Shankar, Sivaji was an action-packed drama and emerged as one of the biggest hits of 2007. In it, Suman played the role of the manipulative Adi and left the fans asking for more. The actor's chemistry with Rajinikanth was one of the biggest highlights of the film. The film also featured Shriya Saran in the lead.
Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja
One of the most ambitious Malayalam films of all time, Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja was a historical drama and featured Megastar Mammootty in the titular role. In the Hariharan directorial, Suman played the role of the infamous general Pazhayamviden Chandu and left the fans asking for more. Upon release, Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja received rave reviews from all corners and bagged quite a few awards.
