It did make a big release in Chennai and the film was touted to do some amazing business at the box office. The unofficial reports that have been doing the rounds regarding the box office collections of the movie in Tamil Nadu have directed that Sarkar has met the expectations of the trade. In fact, reports had also surfaced that the movie has gone past the 200-Crore club at the worldwide box office. In a recent interview given to YouTube Channel named We Talkies, popular film distributor Abirami Ramanathan, who has bought the Chennai distribution rights of the movie divulged a few details about Sarkar's performance in Chennai regions. About Sarkar's Performance At Chennai Box Office
When asked about Sarkar's performance at the Chennai box office, the popular distributor went on to state that the performance has been good. At the same time, he added that the collections aren't extraordinary but they haven't failed either and have come out as expected.
Regarding Sarkar Entering The 200-Crore Club
He added that being the distributor of Sarkar in the Chennai region, he only knows about the collections of the particular region and he will be sending the report to the producer alone. Only the producer will be knowing about the final collections accumulated from the distributors of the different regions.
Producer Is The Final Voice
When quizzed about Sarkar's 200 Crore collections, he added that only the producer can say the amount that the film has collected. He also mentioned that the reports regarding the 100-Crore 200-Crore collections can be sent out for the sake of advertisements as well.

Abirami Ramanathan also opened up about one of the movies of the recent times that performed extremely well. He mentioned that Baahubali was one such film of the recent times which did an amazing business in Chennai in the theatrical run.
