Veteran politician and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi passed away today (August 7, 2018), much to the shock of his followers. The DMK patriarch was admitted to a noted hospital in Chennai a few days after his health showed a decline. He showed signs of improvement initially, but his health deteriorated on Monday (August 6, 2018) and this led to his death. Interestingly, Karunanidhi was an integral part of the Tamil film industry as well. Before entering politics, he worked as a scriptwriter and gave the Tamil film industry some of its most memorable films.
