Rajinikanth's Petta Releasing on Pongal 2019; New Poster Confirms the Release Date

The legendary Rajinikanth is one of the most popular and revered stars in the Tamil film industry today. He enjoys a strong fan following thanks to his mesmerising screen presence, versatility as an actor, down-to-earth nature and charismatic personality. At present, 'Thalaiva' is in the limelight because of his upcoming film Petta. It is a Karthik Subbaraj directorial and features the Superstar in a new avatar. Unlike his last release Kaala, this one is not a political film but an entertainer.

Now, the makers have confirmed that the film is going to hit the screens during Pongal 2019. While confirming the same, they released a lively new poster. In it, Rajini can be seen in a smart new avatar as he spends some tender moments with Simran, The two make one classy pair indeed.

Interestingly, Petta will clash at the box office with Viswasam. The Ajith starrer is a rural-entertainer and is likely to be a treat for the mass audience

In case you did not know, Petta is a multi-starrer and also features 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi in the lead. The rest of the cast features names such as the Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Trisha.

On a related note, this is a busy time for Rajinikanth. Besides Petta, he also has 2.0 in his kitty. The Shankar directorial is slated to hit the screens on November 29, 2018 and it also has the Bollywood star Akshay Kumar in the lead
