'Kalaignar' was hospitalised a few days ago after his health deteriorated. Even though he initially showed signs of improvement, things went from bad to worse on Monday (August 6, 2018), and this led to his demise. Karunanidhi was an integral part of not just Tamil Nadu's politics but also its cinema. Before entering politics, he worked as a writer and wrote the screenplays of several popular films such as Raja Rani and Manohara.
