Last year, the charismatic Vijay became the talk of the town when Mersal opened to a thunderous response at the box office and emerged as a money-spinner. Directed by Atlee, the action-drama was an absolute showreel for 'Thalapathy' and turned out to be a solid Diwali gift for his fans. It also ran into a major controversy because of a scene that made fun of GST and this added to the buzz around it. Vijay will next be seen in Sarkar. And, as expected, the film has already created a great deal of buzz amongst the movie buffs.
Now, here is some terrific news for all you Vijay fans out there. The buzz is that the audio launch of Sarkar will take place on October 2, 2018 in Chennai. The event is likely to be attended by some of the biggest names in the industry and this might make it an extravaganza.
In case you did not know, Sarkar is touted to be a political-thriller and it has been directed by AR Murudagoss. In it, Vijay will be seen playing the role of a rebel who fights several crrupt politicians. Besides Thalapathy, the film also features Keerthy Suresh and Varalaxmi in the lead.
Some time ago, ARM had said that Sarkar is going to highlighr the unknown side of Vijay.
"While doing Thuppakki, there was a bit of fear because I was making a film with a huge mass hero. With Kaththi, the fear was about matching up to the previous film. Now, it is all about what we can do that will be new? There is pressure, but I consider it as a challenge. It will be an unusual project and I want to show an unknown side of Vijay sir with this film," he had told a leading daily.
Sarkar is slated to hit the screens this Deepawali.
