Sarkar Box Office Collections (Day 6): Vijay’s Film Has A Decent First Sunday
The dashing Vijay is arguably one of the most popular and successful stars in the Tamil film industry today. Kollywood's resident 'Thalapathy' enjoys a strong fan following courtesy his grand on-screen image and humble nature. At present, he is in the limelight because of his latest big release Sarkar. The political-thriller hit the screens on November 6, 2018 and collected nearly Rs 31 Crore at the Tamil Nadu box office on Day 1 itself.
Thereafter, it slowed down a bit but remained the top choice of the fans. It did reasonably well on Sunday(November 11, 2018) and continued its run at the BO. Here is the complete report.

Day 6 Collections
According to the latest trade estimates, Sarkar collected between Rs 7 Crore to Rs 10 Crore on Sunday and remained stable. This is a pretty decent figure and it proves that the film is heading in the right direction. One is likely to get a clear picture once the official figures are released.

The Collections Could Have Been Better
While these are good figures, the fact remains that they could have been a bit better. Sarkar had opened on an epic note and thrashed Kaala. Given the fantastic start and the film's controversial plot, the fans expected the Murugadoss directorial to have a record-breaking first Sunday. However, based on these estimates, this has not happened.

The WOM Is Decent
The general feeling is that Sarkar is a gripping film that does justice to Vijay's mass hero image while highlighting a few hard-hitting and controversial issues. However, at the same time, a few fans have pointed out that the film is not as powerful as Kaththi and Thuppakki. Moreover, the consensus is that the political undertones might not click with everyone. As such, the WOM is decent but not extraordinarily good. And, this might have stunted the Sunday collections.

The Road Ahead...
Sarkar is quite an ambitious film and it needs to collect nearly Rs 150 Crore in TN in order to be a profitable venture for all the stakeholders. As such, it needs to do well in the coming days. Hwever, this will not be a cakewalk as quite a few films are slated to hit the screens this week...
