Thalapathy Vijay starrer Sarkar's entry to the theatres has indeed turned out to be a memorable one with the film receiving a grand reception on day 1. Vijay is a big star in Kerala as well and the film was bound to get a grand welcome in the theatres out there. At the Kochi multiplexes, which is one among the most prominent centres in the state, Vijay's sarkar has indeed got a fabulous opening. The movie had as many as 46 shows on its opening day at the Kochi multiplexes and the advance booking was spectacular. Sarkar got a terrific response on its opening day at the Kochi multiplexes. As expected the film fetched big on its opening day itself and according to a report by Forum Keralam, the Vijay starrer has fetched 16 Lakhs on its opening day.

The Occupancy Rate

As mentioned above the film had 46 shows on its day 1 and reportedly, the movie had as many as 33 houseful shows. At the same time, the film had an occupancy rate of 98.38% on its opening day.

Next Only To Kabali

With this, Sarkar has gone on to become the second best day 1 grossing Tamil movie at the Kochi multiplexes. At the top spot is the Rajinikanth starrer Kabali, which had fetched 30.21 Lakhs from 96 shows on its day 1 at the Kochi multiplexes.

The Second Best Opener Of The Year

At the same time, Sarkar has gone on to become the second best opener at the Kochi multiplexes in the year 2018. The best opening day grosser in the year is Kayamkulam Kochunni which had fetched 19.21 Lakhs from 62 shows in total.
