Sarkar Pre-release Business Crosses Rs 200 Crore; Is It Bad For 'Thalapathy' Vijay?
It is no secret that the much-loved Vijay is one of the biggest and most celebrated names in Tamil cinema today. Fondly referred to as 'Thalapathy', the superstar enjoys a strong fan following thanks to his good looks, charming personality, down-to-earth nature and impressive versatility as an actor. Over the years, he has starred in several big hits and this has established him as a synonym for success. At present, he is gearing up for the release of Sarkar. The film is slated to hit the screens on November 6, 2018 and it has raked in nearly Rs 200 Crore through the pre-release business.
While the solid pre-release business proves that Vijay is Tamil cinema's biggest brand, it also makes Sarkar a risky venture for him.

The Stakes Are High!
According to a noted distributor, Sarkar needs to collect between Rs 150 Crore to Rs 200 Crore at the Tamil Nadu box office in order to be a profitable venture for all the stakeholders. This is going to be a daunting task for Sarkar as it will have to stay strong at the box office for nearly 1.5 months in order to achieve this feat.

Will The Spyder Debacle Affect Sarkar?
AR Murugadoss' last big Tamil film Spyder was a big letdown and it left several Mahesh Babu fans in a state of shock. The film's failure affected the director's bankability in a big way. As such, it will worth watching whether he is able to do justice to Vijay's image in Sarkar and put the Spyder debacle behind him.

Four Films To Hit The Screens After Sarkar
As many as four major films( Seethakaathi, Adanga Maru, Kaatrin Mozhi and Thimiru Pudichavan) are slated to hit the screens nearly a week after Sarkar. Out of these films, Adanga Maru has created a good amount of buzz thanks to its action-packed trailer. As such, it is likely to get a good release. And, this means that Sarkar might lose a few screens in Week 2.

Will 2.0 Slow Down Sarkar?
The Rajinikanth starrer 2.0 is slated to hit the screens on November 29, 2018. As such, nearly three weeks separate Sarkar and 2.0. Shankar's magnum opus has created a tremendous buzz in the industry and it is likely to get a big release. This might slow down Sarkar in the first month itself.

To Conclude...
The odds are stacked against Sarkar and stakes are pretty high. The film will have to rely on Vijay's star power and a healthy WOM in order to emerge as a winner.
