Last year, the much-loved Vijay became the talk of the town when he delivered a rocking performance in Mersal and left the fans asking for more. Directed by Atlee, it featured him in a triple role and proved to be an absolute delight for his well-wishers. Upon release, it did extremely well at the box office. However, at the same time, it ran into trouble with the ruling Central government because of a scene that ridiculed GST.
With 2017 and the controversy behind him, Vijay is gearing up for the release of Sarkar. The film's shoot has been wrapped up and it is slated to hit the screens this Diwali. Now, here is some shocking news for those who are keen to watch the film in theatres.
As it so happens, a song from Sarkar has been leaked online and this has ruffled a few feathers. In the leaked clip, 'Thalapathy' can be seen in a lively mood as he dances on the streets. Piracy is a serious issue and often results in losses for those associated with the film in question. As such, we sincerely hope that such things don't happen again.
In case you did not know, Sarkar is a political-thriller and features Vijay in the role of a rebel who fights the system. While ago, director AR Murugadoss had said that the film has Vijay in a new avatar.
"While doing Thuppakki, there was a bit of fear because I was making a film with a huge mass hero. With Kaththi, the fear was about matching up to the previous film. Now, it is all about what we can do that will be new? There is pressure, but I consider it as a challenge. It will be an unusual project and I want to show an unknown side of Vijay sir with this film," he had told a daily.
Sarkar also features Keerthy Suresh in the lead.
