Seema Raja 4 Days' Box Office Collections: Sivakarthikeyan's Film Has A Terrific First Weekend
The dashing Sivakarthikeyan is arguably one of the biggest and most popular actors in the Tamil film industry today. Fondly referred to as the 'BO King', he enjoys a strong fan following thanks to his good looks, charismatic personality, humble nature and impressive versatility as an actor. During his relatively eventful career, he has starred in quite a few well-received films and this has established him as a force to be reckoned with. His latest release Seema Raja, which hit the screens on Thursday (September 13, 2018), has managed to do extremely well over the weekend. Here's the complete report.
A Solid First Weekend!
Seema Raja fared extremely well at the Tamil Nadu box office over its (extended) weekend. After taking a better opening than the Rajinikanth starrer Kaala, the film remained rock solid in the subsequent days and managed to end its first weekend on a good note. Its 4-day gross stands at Rs 22 Crore.
Seema Raja Rules The CBO!
Seema Raja opened to a positive response at the Chennai box office and collected nearly Rs 1 Crore on Day 1. Thereafter, it remained strong on Friday (September 14, 2018) and Saturday (September 15, 2018) and continued raking in the moolah. It saw good occupancy yesterday (September 16, 2018) as well and remained the top pick of the movie buffs. Its 4-day gross stands at Rs 3 Crore.
Will The Negative WOM Be An Issue?
Seema Raja has not been able to impress the critics and general feeling is that it does not do justice to Sivakarthikeyan's abilities a performer. Some critics have also pointed out that the screenplay is quite bland. As a result, the WOM is not too positive. It will be worth watching whether this affects the film in the days to come or not.
A Big Test Lies Ahead
Tamil star Vikram's Saamy Square is all set to hit the screens on November 21, 2018. And, needless to say, it has created a great deal of buzz amongst the fans. As such, the action-drama is likely to create problems for Seema Raja. The negative WOM is bound to add to its problems in a big way. In other words, a big test awaits Seema Raja in the coming days and let's hope that the film passes with flying colours.
