Sarkar Overshadows TOH
Thugs Of Hindostan would have done much better and it not hit the screens merely days after Sarkar. The Murugadoss directorial is a political film and it touches upon quite a few burning issues. The film also managed to create a controversy because of Varu Sarathkumar's character. The character is called Komalavalli and this was the original name of the late TN CM Jayalalithaa. As a result of these controversies, the buzz around Sarkar is awesome and this gives it an upper hand over the competition.
The WOM Is Negative
The general feeling is that Thugs Of Hindostan is a poor film that has no saving grace. Most critics have called the plot ‘unoriginal' and uninspiring. Surprisingly, even Aamir has not been able to impress the fans with his performance. As such, the WOM is extremely negative. And, this is likely to wreck the film once the initial euphoria dies down
The Way Ahead...
Thugs Of Hindostan is likely to stay stable over the weekend. However, it might not be able to show much growth because of the unfavourable WOM. Moreover, Sarkar looks set to have a good weekend. And, this is bad news for the Hindi film.
