Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan's upcoming film Vishwaroopam 2 was gearing up to hit the theatres on August 10, 2018. The highly awaited venture, which is both a prequel and sequel to the 2013 movie Vishwaroopam, has been directed by Kamal Haasan himself.

Certain unconfirmed reports have been doing the rounds that the makers might push ahead the release date of Vishwaroopam 2 upon Karunanidhi's demise, especially considering the great personal equation that Kamal Haasan had with M Karunanidhi.
