released

postponed
due
to
the
coronavirus
scare
and
the
all
India
lockdown.

it
was
reported
that
Soorarai
Pottru
will
release
in
June
2020.

the
latest
reports
suggest
that
the
Suriya
starrer
has
been
postponed
again.
If
the
reports
are
to
be
believed,
Soorarai
Pottru
will
not
hit
the
theaters
in
June
2020
as
expected,
but
is
pushed
to
August
2020.
If
things
fall
in
place,
the
Sudha
Kongara
directorial
will
be
released
on
August
15,
2020,
as
an
Independence
day
special
release.
The
Soorarai
Pottru
cast
and
crew
members
are
expected
to
make
an
official
announcement
on
the
release
date
very
soon.
Meanwhile,
the
VFX
works
of
the
Suriya
starrer
has
been
progressing
in
full
swing
amidst
the
lockdown.
Reportedly,
the
post-production
of
the
project
will
be
finished
in
a
couple
of
weeks.
Soorarai
Pottru,
which
marks
Suriya's
first
collaboration
with
the
talented
filmmaker
Sudha
Kongara,
is
loosely
based
on
the
life
of
GR
Gopinath,
the
founder
of
Air
Deccan.
Suriya,
who
appears
as
the
central
character
Nedumaaran
Rajangam
aka
Maara,
is
appearing
in
four
different
get-ups
in
the
movie,
including
the
look
of
a
19-year-old.
Aparna
Balamurali,
the
Sarvam
Thala
Mayam
fame
actress
has
appeared
as
the
female
lead
in
the
movie.
Reportedly,
Aparna,
who
plays
the
character
Bommi
in
the
movie,
learned
the
Madurai
slang
with
the
help
of
a
language
coach.
The
actress
has
also
dubbed
on
her
own
voice
for
her
character
in
Soorarai
Pottru.
The
songs
and
background
score
are
composed
by
the
renowned
musician
GV
Prakash
Kumar.
Niketh
Bommireddy
is
the
DOP.
Sathish
Suriya
handles
the
editing.
