CONFIRMED: Vijay's Master Will Not Have A Direct OTT Release!
Master, the upcoming action thriller that features Thalapathy Vijay in the title role, is one of the most-awaited Tamil films of the year. The rumours regarding the OTT release of Master have been doing round in social media from the past few days. It was speculated that the Vijay starrer might get an online release before its theatrical release due to the all India lockdown.
However, the sources close to Master have now rubbished the speculations. According to the believable sources, the makers of the Vijay starrer have absolutely no plans to release the movie in the OTT platform, before its theatrical release. The latest reports suggest that the makers are willing to wait till everything is back to normal, to release Master in theaters.
As per the latest reports, Amazon Prime, the renowned OTT platform has bagged the online streaming rights of the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial. However, both the Amazon Prime team and the makers of Master have not reacted to the reports yet.
Interestingly, Master is all set to emerge as the first multi-lingual pan-Indian film of its lead actor Vijay's career. If the reports are to be believed, the action thriller will be simultaneously released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi languages.
Vijay is appearing in the role of John Durairaj aka JD Master, who is the Dean of a popular college and an undercover drug peddler, in Master. Vijay Sethupathi, the talented actor appears as the main antagonist in the movie, thus sharing the screen with Thalapathy for the first time in his career.
Malavika Mohanan, the Petta fame actress appears as the female lead opposite Vijay in the movie. Anirudh Ravichander has composed the music. Sathiyan Sooryan is the director of photography. Master is produced by XB Britto, under the banner XB Creations.
