Aayirathil Oruvan Actor Diagnosed With Cancer; Family Appeals For Financial Aid

Tamil actor Sanmugarajan, who has starred in movies such as Savi, Umai Vivilyam, and the Karthi-starrer Airathil Oruvan has now been diagnosed with oral cancer. The actor, who previously met with accident and lost his both legs is also compounding the family's hardship.

In a heartfelt plea, Sanmugarajan's wife, Nagina Raj, has reached out to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and the Actors' Association, requesting their financial assistance during this challenging period. She expressed deep sorrow and mentioned how the whole family is suffering without adequate support.

The family is hopeful that the Chief Minister and the Actors' Association will extend a helping hand to alleviate their financial burden and provide the necessary support for the actor's medical treatment. The situation has brought immense distress to the family, and they are relying on the compassion and support of the industry and the community at large to see them through this difficult time. Although the film did not perform well back when it was released, it eventually gained a huge fan base and it even had a re-run in the cinema halls a decade later.

Meanwhile, a couple of years back, it was announced that the historical fiction's second instalment is on the cards. Director Selvaraghavan announced that Tamil star Dhanush will be playing the lead role in Aayirathil Oruvan 2 along with a poster. While it has been about two years since the announcement was made, there has been no significant improvements in the projects, and no more updates are made by the makers post the official announcement.
