Urvashi Reveals Reason For Divorce From Manoj K Jayan

Manoj K Jayan was born to a popular Carnatic musician, Padma Shri awardee KG Jayan, and his wife VK Sarojini, a teacher. He became a famous Malayalam actor. He married Urvashi in the year 2000. They parted ways in 2008 after having a daughter Tejalakshmi, who was born in 2001.

Speaking to a media channel recently, Urvashi revealed the reason behind her divorce with Manoj K Jayan, for the first time. Although it was evident for many industry insiders and some of their fans, Urvashi talking about her divorce became headlines.

In her words, "The only reason for our divorce is alcohol addiction. Everybody in his family come together for booze. He forced me to consume alcohol in the beginning. Doing it daily turned me into an addict. Things eventually hit rock bottom causing split. This is also the only reason my daughter was taken away from me then."

After the divorce, Urvashi married a Chennai-based Construction business owner Sivaprasad, in 2013. The couple have a son named Ishaan Prajapathi.

Manoj K Jayan also re-married a woman named Asha in the year 2011. They both have a son named Amrit, born in 2012.
